We all learn together...
Years ago, when I was discussing with Sifu, whether it was appropriate and timely for me to open a school. I asked him, "Am I ready to teach?". I will never forget his response as he recounted the exact same conversation he once had with his Sifu. He responded,
"I am not asking you to teach,
I am asking you to create a place where people can learn".

This is a formative statement about who we are here at the Lancaster Wing Chun Association. Although, of course, we will be passing along to you the things we have learned, our personal goal and intent remains, we too are growing as teachers and students. We want to honor the fact that we all have our own path forward. We have simply found that it is more enjoyable to make the journey together.

Here are some who are ready to walk along with you:

Miss Brenda (Si Zi) // Ladies Daytime
As a "Karate Mom", I decided that I wanted to learn along side my son. Years later now, after achieving my black belt, I decided to find another style that presently fits my needs. This is how I found Wing Chun, a style created by a woman helping a smaller person defend herself against a larger opponent (that's me!).
The LWCA is not about fighting, but rather avoiding a conflict and protecting oneself if caught in a bad situation. We come as we are, working with each other, not against each other in a safe, relaxed environment.

The LWCA family really cares about its members (even in matters outside of class). We celebrate milestones and yes, as families do, find time for laughing.

I want to help this family continue to grow. My hope is that other women will feel welcomed as I do to learn and work towards becoming the best versions of ourselves.
Mr. Chou (Si Hing) // Kids
I first discovered Wing Chun through the Ip Man movies—the sharp, direct movements left a lasting impression on me. I had always wanted to study martial arts, both to protect myself and my loved ones, and to improve my overall health.
What I find special about the Lancaster Wing Chun Association is the people. Over time, we’ve built a family-like culture where everyone helps each other grow. People are welcoming, supportive, and generous.

For me, Wing Chun is not just about how good your skills are—it’s about understanding yourself: your body, your mind, your reactions. It’s about making Wing Chun your own, letting it flow through you, and letting it speak for you.

Miss Krystle (Si Zi) // Assistant
As a kid, I watched Avatar: The Last Airbender. Fascinated by martial arts, I loved watching the heroes work together overcome obstacles and defeat the villains.

Wing Chun is about just this, developing awareness, self-control and balance, expressing it with patience, relaxation, and focused learning.

In my life, I have heroes. My Dad, he is the Master of Patience. My pet rabbit Cali, Master of Awareness. While we haven’t taken on big villains or saved cities from mass destruction, their guidance and support is reflected in my passion for Wing Chun.

Since joining the LWCA, I have become part of a family. We laugh together and grow together. You are honored and respected here. I am so excited to pass along this fun and supportive atmosphere to you as our Wing Chun family grows!
